Experience the thrill of competition and the joy of music with the Indiana Wind Symphony’s Young Artists Concerto Competition. This event is part of the IWS concert, “Dancing in the Streets.”
Talented high school musicians from across Indiana are invited to compete for the opportunity to perform a solo at The Palladium, accompanied by the Indiana Wind Symphony, and to win a $1,000 prize.

Competition Details
Eligibility Requirements:
Open to high school students (grades 9-12) residing in Indiana.
Entrants must perform a wind or percussion instrument piece with full band accompaniment.
Performance must be between 6-8 minutes in duration. Submissions exceeding this limit will not be accepted.
Submission Guidelines:
Complete the application form available on our website.
Provide a private YouTube link to an unedited audition video. The performer must be clearly visible throughout the recording.
Deadline for Submissions: January 17, 2025
Rehearsal and Performance Schedule:
Optional Rehearsals: March 19 or March 26, 2025, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Mandatory Dress Rehearsal: April 2, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at The Palladium
Final Performance: April 6, 2025, at 4:00 PM
Selection Process:
A panel of IWS members will evaluate entries using a rubric based on ISSMA State Solo and Ensemble standards.
The winner must be available for all scheduled rehearsals and the final performance to claim the prize.
Notification:
The winner will be announced on February 14, 2025, via our website and a personal phone call.
All participants will receive written feedback after the judging process.
