Congratulations also to the first James B. Calvert Outstanding Music Educator Award recipient William Adam on his 90th birthday. He is still teaching and playing trumpet. More than 100 of his students gathered in Bloomington to celebrate. He taught at IU from 1947-1989. IWS trumpeters who studied with Mr. Adam include Brian Hoover, Bob Frost and Charles Conrad.
Also, our thoughts and best wishes to IWS Trumpet section member David Hinshaw as he recovers from surgery following an auto accident over the summer. David is recovering well and we hope to have him back again soon!
